Mike Labadie's works are mainly created from salvaged wood. He often uses pieces that have been damaged by bugs such as Ash Borer Beetles and prefers to let the natural surface of the wood stand out above the more refined parts. Sometimes his works are painted but most times they remain unfinished without stains or lacquer. His pieces range in size and sometimes incorporate glass. A majority of his works are constructed using only a "wedge" method so they are free of harmful adhesives and are safe for garden use.
